SS Rajamouli’s RRR is Creating Records in Japan

According to a recent report, since its debut in Japan, SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been breaking a number of box office records.

Since it first debuted on screens, the epic action film RRR by SS Rajamouli, starring Ram Charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju and Jr. NTR as Komaram Bheem, has gotten a tonne of praise from people all over the world. While the 2022 movie broke certain Indian box office records, its song, “Naatu Naatu,” received numerous awards, including Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards and Best Foreign Language Film & Best Song at the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards.

These accomplishments are admirable, but the movie is also making history in the East, specifically in Japan. The movie has been playing in theatres there for 200 days; the amount of money it has made during this time is shown below.
According to a recent report, since its premiere in Japanese theatres in October of last year, SS Rajamouli’s RRR has maintained a continuous run. The Ram Charan-Jr NTR blockbuster has already run in theatres for 200 days and made a sizable sum of money there.

The SS Rajamouli movie reportedly made close to JPY 2 billion, or over $14 million (14, 830,360 at the current exchange rate), at the box office. RRR, which was shown in 44 cities and prefectures on 209 screens and 31 Imax screens, is presently the highest-grossing Indian movie ever to be shown in Japan.

The action-packed epic drama is apparently approaching the JPY 2 billion club after drawing over 1 million viewers in Japan last month. At the conclusion of its 29th week of release, RRR brought approximately JPY 195 million (about $1.44 million), as previously reported by Pinkvilla. In December, RRR surpassed Rajinikanth’s Muthu, which had held the record for the previous 20 years as the highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan.
