Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the release of King, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24th. The makers are currently finalising the film’s business deals.
The overseas rights have been sold for a record Rs 175 crore to Dubai based Phars Films.
Yash Raj Films was initially in the race for the international rights, but Phars Films offered a higher amount and secured the deal. With such a huge investment, King needs to perform exceptionally well overseas.
Expectations are high after Jawan and Pathaan became major successes. Director Siddharth Anand’s track record is another advantage.
Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are producing the film, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
