Bollywood’s Baadshah continues to dominate the box office with his recent release, “Jawan,” following the blockbuster success of “Pathaan.” “Jawan” had a staggering opening, raking in Rs 73 crore nett (Rs 65 crore in Hindi) on its first day, September 7th, and maintained its momentum with Rs 45 crore nett on the second day, despite a 30% drop on a working day.
The film has already amassed a whopping Rs 110 crores nett in the Hindi market alone, setting the stage for an unprecedented opening weekend projection of Rs 230-40 crores at the Hindi box office. Shah Rukh Khan’s immense popularity as a mass superstar is evident, and he has now set a new record that looms over upcoming pan-Indian releases like “Salaar” and “Pushpa 2.”
“Salaar” is another mass action film, uniting two powerhouse actors, Prabhas and director Prashanth Neel. If early trends in the Hindi market continue positively, it could lead to a massive cinematic explosion.
Meanwhile, “Pushpa 2” capitalizes on the success of its predecessor and the deeper reach achieved through its OTT debut, promising limitless potential. However, surpassing “Jawan’s” record-breaking opening will be a challenge, contingent on how these films perform in the Hindi-speaking regions.
