Srinivasa Mangapuram marks the debut of Jai Krishna Ghattamaneni, grandson of Superstar Krishna and nephew of Mahesh Babu. It also introduces Rasha Thadani to Telugu audiences. Ajay Bhupathi, who earned a strong following with RX100, has directed the film, which released today. Read our review here.

Srinivasa Mangapuram Story: Sreenu (Jai Krishna) arrives in Tirupati carrying a secret from his past. He crosses paths with Manga (Rasha Thadani), the daughter of a powerful local leader. What begins as a casual acquaintance soon blossoms into a deep connection. Just when their relationship appears to be heading in a happy direction, Sreenu shocks everyone by revealing that his journey to Tirupati was never a coincidence. He had travelled from Bellary with a specific purpose, and Manga is at the center of his special mission.

Performances: Jai Krishna shows promise in his debut outing. He carries a pleasant screen presence and occasionally reminds viewers of a young Mahesh Babu. Be it dances, fights, or emotions, he has done reasonably well, and though there is scope for improvement, for a newcomer, his effort is sincere.

Rasha Thadani delivers a passable performance but doesn’t leave a strong impression as her character arc does not give her much. One of the drawbacks is the chemistry between the lead pair, which lacks proper spark.

Mohan Babu gets a role that never reaches its potential. Despite his experience, the character is poorly developed and contributes little to the narrative. Shyam, Vasuki, VK Naresh, and Brahmaji do what is required, though their characters offer very little novelty.

‘Gunde Pelipothondhe’ Becomes The Latest Highlight Of Srinivasa Mangapuram

Technical Aspects: The cinematography by Gummadi Jayakrishna stands out. Tirupati and its surroundings are captured beautifully and provide a refreshing backdrop. GV Prakash Kumar’s music is decent, with two songs working reasonably well. However, for a romantic launch vehicle, the soundtrack needed stronger chartbusters. The editing feels uneven, while the screenplay and dialogues lack sharpness.

Analysis: The biggest issue with Srinivasa Mangapuram is its outdated storytelling. What should have been an engaging romantic drama unfolds predictably and sluggishly. The first half struggles to create interest, with routine scenes and weak emotional engagement.

The film briefly comes alive after the interval when a key flashback episode is revealed. However, even this segment suffers because the central twist feels familiar and lacks the impact needed to elevate the story. Instead of offering something fresh, the narrative follows a formula that audiences have seen multiple times before.

Ajay Bhupathi, who once impressed with the raw emotions of RX100, fails to recreate that magic here. The romance lacks depth, the emotions don’t land effectively, and the climax follows a familiar path. More importantly, the film never succeeds in giving Jai Krishna the memorable launch he needed.

Verdict: Overall, Srinivasa Mangapuram had the ingredients for an effective debut film, but weak writing and uninspired execution hold it back. While Jai Krishna shows potential, the film struggles with predictable storytelling and lacks emotional impact.

Bottom Line: Only Jai Krishna shines; the rest fail

Srinivasa Mangapuram Rating: 2.25/5
