On February 24, 2018, Sridevi tragically perished in a drowning mishap in the United Arab Emirates, where she had travelled with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding.
Popular veteran Bollywood actress Sridevi passed away five years ago today. She was in Dubai for Mohit Marwah’s wedding, and a day after the festivities, she passed away. The actress allegedly drowned in her room’s bathtub. Several people, though, thought that it wasn’t the case. Although the exact cause of Sridevi’s death is still unknown, her passing devastated both her family and her followers with a huge hole in their hearts. Her fans still hold dear the memorable roles she played in beloved movies and the contributions she made to the film business. Boney Kapoor, Sridevi’s husband, shared the actress’s final photo on social media on Thursday.
In the “final picture,” Sridevi is pictured posing with Boney, their daughter Khushi, and other family members. The seasoned actress wore a pastel green and gold ethnic outfit, while Khushi, her daughter, wore a pastel peach lehenga. “Final photo,” the producer wrote on the image. A few hours later, Boney Kapoor recalled his “first picture” with Sridevi, which was taken in 1984.

Janhvi Kapoor, however, also wrote a heartfelt letter ahead of the anniversary of the late actress’s passing. She sent her mother a lovely photograph and wrote “I still look for you everywhere mumma, still do everything I do hoping I’m making you proud. Red hearts were left on Janhvi’s post by celebrities including Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh, Karan Johar, and Athiya Shetty, among others.
In the meantime, Sridevi appeared in over 300 movies. Films like Sadma, Chaalbaaz, Khuda Gawah, Nagina, Chandni, and Judaai among others made her well-known. She began her acting career with a Tamil film and ultimately made it to Bollywood.
