Manchu Lakshmi is busy promoting her new film Daksha: A Deadly Conspiracy. At a recent event, she made a comment that many felt was a dig at Samantha.
In an interview, Lakshmi spoke about a superstar’s ex-wife who, after her divorce, lost film offers that were once given to her. This made people believe she was hinting at Samantha.
During the event, Lakshmi said, “There is a superstar’s ex-wife who got divorced, and since then, films offered to her have been taken away. People say, ‘Oddu le amma, he might feel bad’, so she is left waiting for good work. I don’t need to name her”.
When asked directly if she meant Samantha, Lakshmi replied that people were assuming wrongly, as many superstar couples have divorced.
She added that while men face no change after divorce, women struggle with responsibilities and must fight for freedom.
