SP Nimbawat To Helm Gripping Crime Drama Honeymoon In Shillong

A real-life tragedy is being adapted into a film titled Honeymoon in Shillong, directed by SP Nimbawat. The movie is inspired by the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a case that shocked many due to its emotional twists after his marriage.

The script is complete, and 80% of the film will be shot in Indore with the remaining in parts of Meghalaya. Though the cast is yet to be announced, the film will focus on betrayal, justice and regional representation.

Raja’s elder brother Sachin said the family gave their full support, believing the story needs to be told so people understand the truth.

Another brother, Vipin, said the film aims to show a positive image of Meghalaya, often misrepresented in media.

Director Nimbawat revealed that the central theme is emotional betrayal, and the film will carry a strong social message. Backed by the victim’s family, the project is expected to spark meaningful conversations.
