South stars who are in limelight for controversial statements/incidents

South India is home to many star actors, actresses, directors and filmmakers. While most of them like to stay away from controversies, some of them had hit the headlines due to unforeseen things. Now, we bring you the list of stars who are in limelight for several controversies.

  • Allu Arjun:

Allu Arjun is one of the most popular and bankable stars in the south film industry The 40-year-old is known for his dancing and entertaining abilities and has given box office hits like Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, Yevadu and Parugu to name some.

Way back in 2014, Allu Arjun made headlines for a drink and drive case and it was the talk of the town then. The video of the same was going viral on the internet where Arjun was arguing with the policeman. Reportedly, Allu Arjun skipped his breathalyser test and argued about the same with the cops. The Pushpa actor refuse to blow in the breathalyser and did it later when the media is around.

After taking the test, the policeman let him go he clarified the whole incident on his Facebook account later and was upset with the way it was reported in the media surrounding all the negativity.

  • Nagarjuna:

Senior actor Nagarjuna is the son of legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswarara Rao and was a popular actor in Telugu cinema. He even acted in a couple of films in Hindi as well earlier.

Meanwhile, in 2011, a case had been filed by a woman journalist Sunitha Choudhary against Nagarjuna’s allegedly violent and abusive behaviour toward her. She claimed that he had let out vulgar and filthy language on her and had also threatened to harm her because she had done a story on him earlier.

  • Ram Charan:

Being the son of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan is an Indian actor, producer and entrepreneur who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry. Ram Charan who made his acting debut with Chirutha in 2007 has been part of several highly acclaimed movies.

A case had been registered against Ram Charan in 2013 for reportedly pushing two persons when they refused to make way for him at a traffic signal. However, the actor claimed the images to be morphed to cause him a bad image and he said that the bad people did it to grab attention and later apologised. The police dismissed the case after investigation.

  • Sai Pallavi:

A few weeks back, actress Sai Pallavi is currently in the headlines for her statement about Kashmiri pandits. She was quoted saying ‘I was disturbed after watching the Kashmir Files’. I would never belittle a tragedy like the genocide and the generations of people that are still affected by it. Having said that, I can never to terms with a mob launching incident that had taken place during Covid times. I remember seeing that video and being shaken for days. This created quite a stir and now the actress has issued a clarification too.

In a video clarification, Sai Pallavi said ‘I will be thinking twice before I speak my heart because I am anxious that my words may be misinterpreted’ A case had been filed against her.

  • Khushbu:

The senior actress was charged with cases of obscenity due to her bold statement. In 2005, She again made headlines when she favoured pre-marital conjugation and live-in relationships. Her statement angered several political parties and groups resulting in protests. She was even charged for instilling such thoughts in the minds of girls. Later, the Madras High Court accepted the concept of pre-marital conjugation and withdrew all cases on her.
