Sony Music South buys King of Kotha’s Music Rights

The mafia drama King of Kotha, which is being directed by Abhilash Joshy, will be released in five different languages.

King of Kotha, which stars Dulquer Salmaan, has been widely anticipated ever since it was revealed. Due to the gangster aura they give off, the movie’s first look posters have also garnered a lot of praise. And now it has been made known that Sony Music South, a section of Sony Music that examines the music of all South Indian films, has acquired the rights to the film’s music.

In the past, Sony Music has written music in the South Indian languages of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu for numerous films. Regarding King of Kotha, it is a gangster drama with Aishwarya Lekshmi and Dulquer Salmaan in the key roles. Abhilash Joshy, a filmmaker, makes his directorial debut with this movie. Dulquer called the movie his “homecoming” movie when he unveiled the first look poster for it because he was making a brief comeback to Malayalam cinema. Sita Ramam, a pan-Indian film that was originally released in Telugu, and Chup, a Hindi film, were two of Dulquer’s most recent releases for the uninitiated.

Sony Music has previously composed music for various films in the South Indian languages of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu. Aishwarya Lekshmi and Dulquer Salmaan play the main characters in the gangster drama King of Kotha. With this film, filmmaker Abhilash Joshy makes his directorial debut. When he presented the first look poster for the film, Dulquer referred to it as his “homecoming” film because he was briefly returning to Malayalam cinema. For the uninitiated, Dulquer’s most recent films are Chup, a Hindi film, and Sita Ramam, a pan-Indian film that was initially released in Telugu.

Dulquer Salman said, “This film is a homecoming in so many ways. I’m back to Malayalam after a gap. I join hands with the first person I called my friend @abhilash_joshiy ! It’s his debut film but brings with him a decade of experience in brand films and cinema. Another first is that we are partnering with @zeestudiosofficial in what is their maiden association in the Malayalam Film Industry!”

He had concluded by adding, “This is a film we truly believe in and are pulling all stops to bring to you the best theatrical experience while staying true to its narrative.”

King of Kotha is slated to premiere during Onam 2023 and was produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his production company Wayfarer Films in collaboration with Zed Studios South.
