Sonam Kapoor Talks About her Post Pregnancy Comeback

After taking a break from acting because of her pregnancy, Sonam Kapoor is making a comeback to the big screen. The actress has stated that she would adore to work on films for general entertainment.

Sonam Kapoor’s most recent appearance on the big screen was in the 2019 movie The Zoya Factor. In 2022, Sonam gave birth to the first child for her and her spouse Anand Ahuja. Due to her pregnancy and motherly responsibilities, the actress had taken a vacation from performing. Sonam is currently getting ready to make a quick comeback in the movies. Sonam has stated that she would like to act in commercial films and family comedies for her comeback and that she would like to work on two projects every year.

Sonam Kapoor said when discussing her return to acting after becoming a mother that she was looking for roles that would entertain audiences. I have always enjoyed being a part of projects that have entertained audiences, Sonam added. I’ll make an effort to do just that when I go back to the movies after giving birth since it makes me happy to watch others forget about their everyday lives and appreciate movies and the worlds they can help us construct.

Sonam also mentioned her desire to produce two films annually with family-friendly plotlines. I want to do two projects per year coming forward, and I’m going to hunt for screenplays that are incredibly fun and interesting, she declared. In order for us to appreciate films as a family and as a community, I find myself drawn to topics that speak to a bigger audience segment.

The actress also discussed how her early life influenced her love of family films. “I remember why I wanted to become an actor,” Sonam continued. I have always enjoyed watching films with my entire family. I was really anticipating the encounter. When I watched these films with my family, I experienced a wide spectrum of emotions. Those times continue to rank among my most romantic memories. I want to be a part of that style of filmmaking. Therefore, family comedies and commercial films have always been my first choices. I hope to make more of these films when I go back to the theatres.

Sonam Kapoor has reportedly already signed on for two projects that will begin production in 2024. She will reportedly work again with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania in the Veere Di Wedding sequel.
