Sky Force Stars Help Reclaim A Forgotten Legacy

After acting in Sky Force, a film based on the life of Squadron Leader AB Devayya, actors Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya helped bring back his stolen Mahavir Chakra medal.

Devayya was the only Indian Air Force officer to be posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra. During filming, Veer Pahariya built a close bond with Devayya’s family and found out the medal had been stolen years ago. Deeply moved, he and Akshay Kumar took it upon themselves to recover it.

Before the movie’s release, the lost medal was finally found and returned to the family in a special event held at the Indian Air Force Training Command in Bengaluru.

Air Marshal Tejinder Singh officially handed it back to Devayya’s wife, Sundari. Her daughter, Preetha, shared that this moment brought peace and completeness to her mother.

Veer Pahariya said the experience reminded him why he became an actor to tell meaningful stories and create real impact.
