Sisu: Road To Revenge Movie Review & Rating!

The 2022 film Sisu went unnoticed by many, but those who watched it were shocked by its action. The Swedish movie, released in multiple languages, became a surprise hit, earning 14 million dollars on a 6-million budget. Its success led to a sequel. Let’s see how this new part performs!

Sisu: Road To Revenge Story: During World War II, Aatami Korpi (Jorma) loses his entire family. To honor their memory, he collects all the gold he earned and starts moving to a peaceful place to build a new home. But when Red Army chief Igor (Stephen Lang) learns about this, he leads his soldiers to attack Aatami and tries to kill him.

How Aatami survives this brutal battle and fulfills his dream of building a home forms the rest of the story.

Performances: The movie has very few dialogues and is mostly action, so rather than great acting, the cast mainly impresses with their intense fight sequences.

Technical Aspects: The film needs better technical work. The tone, coloring, and fight-scene intensity are weaker than the 2022 Sisu. Editing and music also don’t match well. The makeup team, however, did an excellent job with realistic wounds and blood. While the action is heavy, some scenes, especially the rocket-bomb climax, feel unintentionally funny. The director tried to use the franchise’s craze but couldn’t shape the sequel effectively.

Analysis: The first film worked because viewers had no expectations and were shocked by the action. But for the sequel, audience expectations were high, and the team couldn’t meet them. With no logic and low intensity, some scenes end up looking unintentionally funny, becoming the film’s main minus.

Verdict: A weaker sequel that misses the intensity of the first part; despite heavy action, the lack of impact and unintentional comedy make it fall short of expectations.
