It is already reported that Kollywood star Dhanush’s Telugu-Tamil bilingual project, Sir, directed by Venky Atluri is slated to hit the screens on February 17th. The film will have a simultaneous release in Tamil as Vaathi.
As the release date is nearing the makers unveiled the film’s theatrical trailer this evening. Going by trailer, it is evident that the film revolves around the loopholes in the corporate education system. Being an intelligent teacher, Bala Gangadhar Tilak’s (Dhanush) character will be appointed as a teacher for a government school. How an educationist ( role played by Samuthirakani) continues his monopoly in the education sector? What will Dhanush’s character do to restrict the money-minded educationist, expected to be crucial crux. The promo hints that Sir has an 80s setup which is showcased nicely. As usual, Dhanush is good in his responsible teacher role. Have to wait and see how far will this social drama works at the box office.
Co-starring Bimbisara fame Samyuktha Menon as the female lead, SIR/Vaathi is being bankrolled by young filmmaker Naga Vamsi under his Sithara Entertainments banner in association with Trivikram’s Fortune Four Cinemas banner. GV Prakash Kumar is the music composer for this social drama that revolves around the corrupt education system.
