The latest movie in which Sree Vishnu, popularly known as the King of Entertainment, plays the title role is #Single. Directed by Karthik Raju, who made his debut with Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene, the film is produced by Geetha Arts. The promotional content has generated good interest. Story: Vijay (Sree Vishnu) remains single despite having a good job and salary at a bank. He falls in love with Poorva (Ketika Sharma), who works as a salesgirl in a showroom. But… Harini (Ivana) is in love with Vijay. Whose love wins in this triangular love story? What obstacles arise in this romantic journey? Is Vijay ultimately left single, or does he find love? That’s something you’ll have to find out by watching #Single.

Performances: Sree Vishnu entertains as usual with his single-line punch dialogues. However, some double-meaning jokes felt unnecessary. Regardless of Sree Vishnu’s comic image, the line “Punugulu, Burgers” felt out of place. Though the film is full of double entendres, this one stood out as particularly excessive. Ketika Sharma tries to emote in emotional scenes. Ivana’s expressions are charming and effective. She appears graceful and energetic in her role as Harini.

Vennela Kishore gets another full-length role after Sarangapani Horoscope. He delivers hilariously with his comic timing and body language. His chemistry with Sree Vishnu works well. Rajendra Prasad brings some sentiment to a small guest role. VTV Ganesh, Prabhas Srinu, and others provide occasional laughs.

Technical Aspects: Velraj, a veteran Tamil cinematographer, handles the visuals, but his signature style and quality are not evident here. Still, the production and art departments have not compromised on quality. Vishal Chandrasekhar’s music is melodious. It’s unclear why the songs weren’t promoted well. The background score effectively enhances both emotion and comedy. Dialogues by Bhanu and Nandu are hilarious. The clever use of star hero memes and popular lines will surely entertain fans.

Analysis: Some films can be enjoyable even without a solid story or narrative, but they still need proper justification. Otherwise, audiences may be left confused about what to connect with emotionally. That’s the case with #Single. While the film has countless one-liners and great comedy from Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore, it doesn’t fully impress as a whole.

Director Karthik Raju seems to have paid little attention to the story. The film runs purely on Sree Vishnu’s comic timing. What is the origin of this love triangle? What’s the point of realization or closure? These elements are missing. Thanks to Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore, the film still manages to move along.

A bit more focus on storytelling would have helped. No matter how entertaining a film is, if the audience cannot connect with the characters or emotions, it falls flat. Rajendra Prasad’s role feels underused and serves merely as a justification tool in the end. His character and the film’s climax seem more focused on amusing the heroines than resolving the story.

Verdict: Overall, Single tried hard to ride on its concept. Fans of Sree Vishnu’s style and humor may enjoy #Single, but others may find it like just another comedy caper in the market.
