According to reports, Pathaan was being viewed unlawfully in Karachi, Pakistan; the Film Censor board has now been able to stop the showings.

Following reports of unlawful screenings in Pakistan some weeks after Pathaan debuted in theatres worldwide, the Sindh Board of Films Censor (SBFC) has recently taken the required action.
According to reports, the screenings that were taking place at the Defence Housing Authority in Karachi have ended.

According to a report in a Pakistani newspaper, internet ticket sales for the screening were going for 900 Pakistani rupees each. According to the investigation, Fireworks Events hosted these screenings for private audiences.

“No person shall make or arrange a public or private exhibition of a film by means of cinematograph unless the film has been duly certified for public exhibition by the Board.”, said Dawn quoting SBFC.
It also stated that anyone responsible for showing films that were not approved by the board might face up to three years in prison and fines of up to Rs. 100,000 (Pakistani rupees). The screening has been canceled after the Sindh Board of Film Censors ordered Firework Events to immediately withdraw its performances.

Details of the screening were also disclosed in a second story in the Pakistani newspaper, which revealed that it was planned to be “not HD, but pretty good and clear.” It further stated that the screen was 8 feet by 10 feet, indicating that Pathaan was not being shown in a typical movie theatre.

In 2019, both Pakistani and Indian producers, filmmakers chose to forgo working with any of the artists from that country. The showing of movies from each other’s nations also ceased at that point.

Pathaan, which has shattered numerous records around the world, is still dominating the box office in the meantime. It has already surpassed Aamir Khan’s Dangal’s box office totals. It is the first Hindi movie to exceed $400 crore in India.
