Simbu’s hit film Maanaadu is all set to release in Japan this May. The film which was a massive success in Tamil both critically and commercially is now gearing up to reach more audiences.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu the film stars Simbu and S.J. Suryah in lead roles.
The story revolves around a man stuck in a time loop trying to stop a political assassination and save the day again and again.
Producer Suresh Kamatchi shared his excitement saying that a good film crosses borders and they believe the time-loop concept will click with Japanese viewers especially since sci-fi and time travel themes are popular in Japan.
Maanaadu marked a strong comeback for Simbu and became one of the biggest hits of his career. With its gripping screenplay, the makers are hopeful it will receive the same love overseas as it did in India.
