The South India Digital Publishers Association (SIDPA) which represents leading digital media organizations has strongly condemned producer Rajesh Danda for using abusive language against a media outlet that covered his movie.
SIDPA stated that professional disagreements should always be expressed with respect and dignity. Having a public voice or influence does not give anyone the right to insult, threaten or demean others. Such behavior, the association said goes against basic ethics and professionalism.
The association further said that making public threats including those suggesting violence or harm is a criminal offense under the law.
Reaffirming its stand SIDPA said it will not tolerate or accept any kind of intimidation or abuse or threats toward journalists or media houses.
It remains committed and took stand of protecting press freedom and ensuring accountability for anyone who tries to undermine the credibility of media professionals.
