Last year, Gehraiyaan, which presented Siddhant as the super-cool, slick dude, became a hot topic. Of course, his relationship with Deepika Padukone made a big splash as well.
The actor, who has advanced much since his role as MC Sher in Gully Boy, delighted in the home noir drama before moving on to the horror comedy Phone Bhoot, which also starred Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter.
Playing modern characters seems to come effortlessly to him, but Siddhant is now eager to take on roles with more desi-ness and Bollywood type spice.
He remarked, “I feel that now I need to start looking for stories which are truer to our country and are more anchored after seeing films like Kantara and Pushpa.
Banut nogaye urban roles, ap mujne
thodasa desi tadka chahiye.”
He added, “I am a boy from Ballia, a small
town (in UP). I am very desi, but it’s just
that I did films like Gully Boy and
Gehraiyaan, toh woh image thodi waise
(urban) ban gayi hai meri. Main toh UP ka
Ganga kinare wala ladka hoon.”
The actor acknowledges that it is difficult to get the kinds of films he wants to do, despite the fact that he has been working in the profession for five years.
“I think I have chosen the best of all that
was thrown at me.This was the best I could
do.l hope one day I receive scripts that are
written keeping me in mind, and I hope
that day comes soon.n the last few years,
with the projects that I picked, I was just
ulfilling my dreams, but now it’s time to
conquer.l am done living my dreams
maine apna khoon de diya hai, ab meri
baari hai,” he further stated
