Shruti Haasan’s career took a major turn with Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh which she considers her first real success. That’s why she calls Telugu cinema her “first home of success”.
After the film’s huge hit she rose to stardom and acted in several successful Telugu and Tamil films alongside top stars.
In a recent podcast Shruti revealed that she was almost dropped from Gabbar Singh but director Harish Shankar firmly believed she was perfect for the role and fought to keep her in the film. That decision she says, changed her life.
She recalled attending a Filmfare event in Hyderabad to receive an award on behalf of her father Kamal Haasan where she promised to return one day to win her own. That dream came true with Gabbar Singh.
Speaking about Pawan Kalyan, Shruti praised his grounded nature and said he belongs in politics because of his love for people, farming and village life.
