Producer Nikhil Dwivedi is bringing back “Naagin” with a fresh approach, casting Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. In an interview, producer revealed that Shraddha was his first choice for the role.
He shared that the script, which took three years and multiple rewrites, is finally ready. He said, “The story is completely new and unrelated to past films”.
“Indian folklore is so rich, but we often underestimate it. Just like Spider-Man excites us, a woman transforming into a snake can be equally thrilling. We aim to present a unique supernatural film”.
Dwivedi also explained why Shraddha was chosen, saying her versatility and screen presence made her the perfect fit for “Naagin”.
He added, “Shraddha has an ethereal charm, and we always wanted her for the role. She was thrilled with the idea and immediately came on board”.
Shraddha, who recently tasted huge success with “Stree 2“, is excited about this project. Dwivedi mentioned that she is eager to start shooting now that the script is finalized. The film is expected to begin production next year.
