Shraddha Kapoor is confirmed to star in director Rahi Anil Barve’s upcoming dark fantasy film Pahadpangira, putting an end to earlier rumors about her exit.
The actor is not only playing the lead role but is also involved creatively with reports suggesting she may even serve as a creative producer. Kapoor has expressed fascination with the story’s originality and is actively contributing ideas to shape the film.
The shoot is expected to begin in mid 2026, after Barve completes his Netflix series Rakt Bramhand and Kapoor wraps up Laxman Utekar’s project later this year.
Pahadpangira is a dark fantasy inspired by myth and folklore exploring feminist themes against the historical backdrop of the Sati practice. Initially linked to the Tumbbad universe it has been reimagined as a standalone feature produced by Ektaa R Kapoor.
Meanwhile Shraddha also recently announced the animated theatrical film Chhoti Stree, part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe aimed at kids and family audiences showing her versatility and excitement for genre-driven projects.
