For any hardcore film lover, film watching at a theater is an experience and pandemic is threatening to rob that from them for the remainder of the year, 2020. Several movie lovers are waiting for producers to take a decision on OTT release for films that have been completed and postponed indefinitely. Anchor Pradeep Machiraju’s first film as a lead actor, 30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela?, got great buzz going with the first song from the film album, Neeli Neeli Aakasam composed by Anup Rubens going viral. But now, not many remember that such film exists and this is the kind of problem that Uppena, V, Nishabdam are also facing.

These films star far superior box office stars like Vijay Sethupathi, Nani, Nivetha Thomas, Anushka Shetty, Sudheer Babu than Pradeep but with no publicity about the films and no release date in sight, the buzz for these films is at all time low. Even if theatres open, they will be allowed only 25-30% full capacity operations and that won’t help any of the mentioned films to recover costs. So, is it better to have an OTT release than no release at all for so many days? It will be hard to grow buzz again when the situation eases out, as they have to pump in more funds to get the ball rolling. So, the opinion among the Industry insiders is that it is better if producers only consider OTT releases for time being as the audiences will be scared to walk in to theatres too.
