Director Gopi Nainar, known for Aram, completed two films, Karuppar Nagaram and Manushi starring Andrea Jeremiah. However, both remain unreleased due to technical issues and censor board objections. Recently, his former assistant director Rajkamal made serious allegations against him.
Rajkamal claimed he worked on Karuppar Nagaram from 2018 but hasn’t received payment even after three years. He alleged Gopi made false promises about offering him acting roles and helping with his wedding expenses.
Rajkamal also denied Gopi’s involvement in his inter-caste marriage, saying instead that he faced threats after leaving the VVIP party, where Gopi was a district secretary. He claimed he was harassed, beaten, and jailed on false charges.
He also accused Gopi’s team of bringing criminals to a peace meeting to intimidate him. In response, Gopi Nainar told Nakkheeran he has filed a defamation case and said the allegations are baseless and should be addressed in court, not through media.
