Sobhita Dhulipala, well known for her role in “Raman Raghav 2.0,” spoke on her shift to Tamil cinema and the representation of women in renowned director Mani Ratnam’s historical extravaganza “Ponniyin Selvan-2.”
On Tuesday night, Dhulipala said, “This is my first Tamil film, and the experience has been so exciting,” when speaking with the media in the Capital. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Mani Ratnam and the film’s great cast. I enjoyed every second of it.
Sobhita Dhulipala added, “The kind of work I did in this movie (Ponniyin Selvan) is very different from the previous ones. As actors we always want to do something different and this is what I got to do in this film.”
Sobhita Dhulipala portrays Vaanathi, Princess of Kodumbalur, in Ponniyin Selvan. She is a quiet yet outgoing princess who has a strong love for Ponniyin Selvan, also known as Rajaraja I, and desires to wed him.
