Nagarjuna’s Shiva, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, was released on October 5, 1989. The film had little hype before release but became an unexpected blockbuster. Nagarjuna’s intense performance, RGV’s direction and the iconic cycle chain fight turned Shiva into a cult classic.
Amala played the female lead, while Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. Made on a budget of just Rs 75 lakh, the film is completing 37 years.
