Shilpa Shetty Says She Has No Role In Fraud Case

Actor Shilpa Shetty has issued a clear statement after her name was linked to an alleged Rs 60 crore fraud case. She denied the allegations and said the reports were baseless.

Shilpa said that her connection with the company was only in a non-executive role and that she had no involvement in its daily work, finances and few other things.

She explained that like many other celebrities she only endorsed some products for a home shopping channel in a professional capacity and added that payments due to her are still pending.

She also revealed that her family had loaned nearly Rs. 20 crore to the company which has not yet been repaid. Calling the allegations unfair and legally weak and she pointed out that the case was raised after an unexplained delay of almost nine years. She said dragging her name into the matter harms her dignity and reputation.

Shilpa said she has approached the Bombay High Court and has full faith in the system. She also urged the media to verify if possible before reporting.
