Shekhar Kapur talks about people congratulating him abroad for Chandrayaan 3 success

While visiting the UK, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur shared a charming account of a meeting with an immigration official in London.

During his visit to the UK, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur revealed a touching incident about his encounter with a London immigration official who congratulated him on India’s “Chandrayaan-3” achievement.

The ‘Mr India’ director uploaded a photo of his Indian passport to X (previously Twitter).

Along with that, he wrote: “The question today from the immigration officer in London was not ‘How long are you staying , Sir’.. but ‘Congratulations Sir, on your ‘Moon Landing’. .. #passport”.

The Chandrayaan-3 soft landing on the Moon’s South Pole was recently accomplished by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

With the 1983 release of the cult hit “Masoom,” Shekhar made his directing debut. With the biographical movie “Bandit Queen,” which was based on the notorious Indian bandit and politician Phoolan Devi, he later attracted attention and praise on a global scale.

He also worked on the 1998 Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta romantic suspense film “Dil Se.”

What’s Love Got to Do with It?, a 2022 British romantic comedy movie, is Shekhar’s final film to be directed. Lily James, Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Sajal Ali, Oliver Chris, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, Alice Orr-Ewing, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are among the actors who appear in the movie.

Additionally, Shekhar is the author of the comic books “Devi,” “Snake Woman,” and “Ramayan 3392 AD.” In 1994, he was the director of the TV show “Tehkikaat.”

Shekar is well recognised for his playing roles in films like “Khanjar,” “Bindiya Chamkegi,” “Gawaahi,” and “Teraa Surroor,” among others.

In 1999, he wed the actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, and the two are parents to Kaveri Kapur. Nevertheless, they separated in 2007.
