Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur continues to work strongly on the global stage. According to sources he is currently developing a big romantic series for a leading international OTT platform.
The project is based on the popular U.S. novel My Name Is Memory and will be developed, produced and directed by Shekhar Kapur for Amazon Studios in the U.S. highlighting its international scale.
This project is not a return to Indian cinema but part of his ongoing global work. Shekhar is known for films like Bandit Queen and Masoom and later gained worldwide recognition with the Oscar nominated Elizabeth.
His recent international film What’s Love Got to Do with It? also received major awards in the UK.
At the same time he is preparing Masoom: The Next Generation a sequel to his classic film. In 2025 he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan marking his lasting impact on cinema worldwide.
