Director Shankar’s image as a top filmmaker suffered after the failures of his recent films. To regain his reputation he now needs a strong comeback.
Earlier, reports suggested that Shankar planned to finish Indian 3 with Kamal Haasan even though the second part did not do well at the box office.
But according to the latest buzz in Kollywood that Shankar has dropped the idea of continuing Indian 3. Even though a good amount of the film was already shot both Shankar and Kamal have reportedly decided to shelve the project and move on.
Shankar is now working on his dream film Velpari a mythological period drama based on a popular Tamil novel. He earlier mentioned that Velpari will be made on an international level with a huge budget.
Shankar hopes this film will mark his grand comeback. The lead actor is yet to be confirmed but a major Tamil star is in talks.
