Baby Shamili and Shalini have become household names after the films like Anjali, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Killer and many more. Shalini went on to become a successful actress in Tamil and later, married Ajith Kumar and settled as a homemaker. Shamili on the other hand, focussed on her studies and towed with the idea of becoming an actress again. She got an opportunity in Telugu film, Oye, but as she looked chubby and not like the young cute girl that youth could connect instantly, the movie failed.
She had to take a lot of body-shaming and even director and actor of the film, had their take on her not being completely ready to be shown as the lead on screen. After all those highly humiliating experiences, actress stayed away from limelight and concentrated on studies. But suddenly, she became thin and re-surfaced as the actress in Tamil, while her brother-in-law, Ajith did a photoshoot of her like a professional.
She got a film in Malayalam and a film in Tamil. But the success did not come to her and she had to wait again patiently for the better opportunity. Now, she got a good role in Naga Shourya’s next film after Chalo, Ammamma Gari Illu. The actress had apparently, already started shooting for it and expressed her happiness with the way her character is coming off. She is playing a girl-next-door and all the negative feedback she received for Oye, will be reversed as per the close sources to the team. Sunder Surya is directing the film.
