The theatrical trailer of Passionate filmmaker Gunasekhar’s ambitious pan-India mythological magnum opus, Shaakuntalam is released by the team this afternoon. The 2 minute-47 seconds promo establishes the life of Shaakuntalam.
After showcasing the birth of Shaakuntalam, her teenage, love story with prince Dushyant, the promotional video explores the hurdles she faces in her life? Her willpower and determination to achive where she losses, expected to be crucial crux. While Samantha is stunning in the titular role, her chemistry with Prince Dushyant ( Dev Mohan) is projected beautiful. While the fantasy setup created with Shaakuntalam centric is amazing, the graphics and CG work are major disappointment in the trailer part as it looks dull without any spark. Will the team rectifies the mistakes by the time of release? Remains to be seen
Also starring senior artists such as Mohan Babu among others in key roles, Shaakuntalam will be out on February 17th in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam languages. Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna is turning producer with this ambitious poetic romance drama. Dil Raju is presenting it. The film also has Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. Mani Sharma is the music composer.
