Senior Producer, Ashwini Dutt started his career in film industry with Sr. NTR’s Eduruleni Manishi. He released the movie in 1975, but established his banner in 1972. He survived many ups and downs to remain in the business, till date. He started so young but always wanted to produce his first film with NTR. After working with other producers as executive producer and one of partners, NTR liked his confidence and perseverance to understand craft. He suggested the banner name to the youngster before becoming a producer and that’s how Vyjayanthi Movies came into existence.
Well, he had to face adverse situations like cyclones and multiple disasters at regular intervals, but his passion never died down. Recently, his daughters took over the business operations but he is guiding them with all his experience. The production house came back with Mahanati, Maharshi and Devdas kind of profitable ventures after disasters and years of non-activity. During that time, they did try their hand in establishing a Satellite TV channel and producing content on internet. Those projects failed but now, they could announce their comeback strongly.
The production house has plans to make their 50th year, 2022 a memorable one with Prabhas-Nag Ashwin big budget epic. Even such a daring producer opined that during this kind of a pandemic, it is better to go for OTT releases and said that he welcomes the decisions of Suriya, Nani to release their films Soorarai Pottru, V on OTT platforms. He stated that he feels till January, 2021 it would be difficult to release films in theaters.
