Shaukar Janaki made a name for herself as a performer with Black and White Movies as a heroine and then shifted to supporting roles very elegantly. She acted in more than 500 films across the different languages but never got so huge name as Savitri or Jamuna.
She talked about #MeToo and made some scathing comments. She said, “Few girls are crying foul after using the men who threw money at them for gains. That is morally wrong on their part as they are trying to make their case of being innocent while they aren’t.
I fought for women rights all my life and bringing up issues that are long past in time is all about trying to gain some publicity and popularity. But what about their husband and children? Aren’t they going to have a tough time leading normal lives in a highly judgmental society.
They have to just say it out loud that then and there rather than following an example of Hollywood which is a completely different society. One shouldn’t follow someone blindly without understanding the ground they are standing on,” concluded the actress.
