Senior actress Jayanthi passes away

Senior actress Jayanthi passed away this morning at her residence in Bengaluru. She was 76. Born in Bellary, Jayanthi ventured into the film industry in the 1960s and acted in more than 500 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi languages.

In Telugu, Jayanthi acted opposite legendary actors such as NTR and ANR in many mythological and social dramas. In Kannada, she acted opposite superstar Rajkumar in close to thirty films and their on-screen chemistry was a huge hit back then.

Jayanthi got married to actor cum filmmaker Peketi Sivaram and the couple has a daughter. Filmyfocus.com extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
