Martin Scorsese is known to have a liking for religious beliefs. He has previously made a successful film on Jesus Christ before. ‘The Last Temptation Of Christ’ came out in 1988 and starred Willem Dafoe In the lead role. The religious drama told the imaginary story of what could have been if Jesus had succumbed to temptations. Naturally, the film gathered a lot of controversy. Scorsese had told in the conference that he has always liked films like Pier Paolo Pasolini’s ‘The Gospel According to St. Matthew’ and others and he has also been very much inspired by the gospels and teachings of the Bible. It is quite natural that his next film is on Jesus and it is announced in the most appropriate of settings.

Scorsese is one of the biggest filmmakers of the time and is considered to be a living legend. With films like ‘Raging Bull’, ‘Taxi Driver’ or ‘Shutter Island’, he has earned a huge fan base around the world. Recently, he also gave a statement about aging and not being able to tell stories even if there is an urge to tell. For the fans who were sad about their favorite filmmaker getting aged, it will be a huge relief to know that he will again come back for a film unlike Tarantino, who has decided to retire after his 10th film.
