Saumya Tandon, who first played Anita Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, has explained why she is not part of the film version.
The movie stars Shubhangi Atre, Rohitashv Gour, Aasif Sheikh and Vidisha Shrivastava and will release on February 6th 2026. After the announcement many fans wondered why Saumya wasn’t included.
In an interview, Saumya said she decided not to join the film because Vidisha is now playing Anita Bhabhi on television. She felt it wouldn’t be fair to take the role again since the audience now accepts Vidisha in that character.
Saumya also shared that she is still close to the team and stayed in touch while the film was being made. She said her time on the show ended nicely and should stay that way.
Saumya will next be seen in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh. She took the role because she always wanted to work with Dhar. The film releases on December 5.
