Sarkar team settles the copy issue

Sarkar starring Thalapathy Vijay is releasing in Telugu and Tamil, Malayalam Worldwide on 6th November. K.V Rajendran @ Varun filed a case against the makers saying that his story has been copied by A.R. Murugadoss.

The director asked South Indian Screen Writers Association to handle the issue first. The association surprisingly deemed that the Sarkar story has simularities with Sengol, the script registered by Varun.

A.R. Murugadoss did not accept the verdict and Varun moved to court. Sun Pictures the producers got involved into the issue as court case could put the movie release in jeopardy. So, both the parties came to an agreement.

Murugadoss agreed to display an open letter acknowledging Sengol being a similar script to Sarkar even though he did not copy it. He remarked that imagination of Varun should be complimented in it. This letter will be displayed in every show of Sarkar after Thank You cards before film begins for considerable time.
