Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Movie Review

Story: Surya(Nani) is a very aggressive kid right from his childhood onwards. To control his anger, his mother takes a promise that he can get angry only on Saturdays. On the other hand, Dayaa(SJ Suryah) is a ruthless cop who creates havoc in a place called Sokulapalem. What happens when Suryah crosses paths with a mad cop Dayaa and how both the crazy guys are pitted against each other is the basic story of the film.

Performances: Nani is growing bigger and massive with each passing film. He takes his mass aura to the next level with this film. The way he carries the role with utmost sincerity is the best part of his performance. Priyanka Arul Mohan gets a key role and suits perfectly in her cop role. Harshvardhan is good as SJ Shryah’s assistant.

But the real hero of the film is S J Suryah. He kills it with his wicked performance in the film and there is never a dull moment when he is in screen. S J Suryah plays a ruthless cop like never before and even dominates Nani in many scenes. Sai Kumar is also good in his key role. Murali Sharma was neat. The rest of the cast were okay.

Technical Aspects: Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has one of the best background scores in recent times. The entire action part is elevated superbly by Jakes Bejoy. His score in the action blocks is stunning. The production design, screenplay and production values in the film are top notch.

Vivek Athreya has mixed masala moments and content in the best way possible and showcases the film in a superb manner. The way he narrated a simple thread with amazing screenplay is the best part of the film. The racy screenplay is the biggest assets.

But one of fhe disadvantages of the film is the editing. There was no need for the film to be there hours long. At least ten minutes should have been cut. The camerawork is solid and the dialogues are impressive. The action composed is also brilliant.

Analysis: Nani has been on a roll with back to back hits. But a lot of eyebrows were rolled when he roped in Vivek Athreya, who gave a flop with Ante Sundaraniki, to direct Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, a mass drama out of his league. But boy, Vivek delivers and how. The story chosen itself is amazing and has scope for so much action and drama tk be showcased.

The hero and the villain confront only in the second half but the build up all this is showcased in a superb manner. The best part of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is that it does not go way too commercial. When you think that the film is getting dragged, a unique moment happens in the film.

S J Suryah and the way his character drives the narrative is executed in a solid manner. His performance and the way he goes about things is showcased so well. The confrontation scenes in the second half are also so good and there is also a comedy tinge in Shryah’s character which everyone will love.

In a way, Nani has once again proved that he is a superstar in the making and it shows with Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. The way he allows the other aspects to dominate him is the best part of the film. The film has action, drama and emotion at its best and will be loved by the masses.

Verdict: Overall, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is a gusty action drama that has top notch performances and high octane thrills. Though the runtime is a bit lengthy, the Nani starrer makes up for a good watch at the theatres. Nani scores yet another mass hit.

Bottom Line – Amazing content based action drama
