After receiving heavy criticism for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu addressed the issue.
He said that the shooting was done before recent tensions with Pakistan and confirmed it will not release in India.
Referring to the terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir which resulted in the loss of lives, Sidhu said “Keeping Indian sentiments in mind there will be no India release for the movie”.
The backlash began when Aamir appeared long in the trailer alongside lead actor Diljit Dosanjh. Many people expressed anger over including a Pakistani actor during a time of national grief and conflict.
Hania is a popular face in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. For now, Sardaar Ji 3 will only release in international markets, with no further comments from the makers or Diljit.
