Saraswathi Controversy: Varalaxmi Clarifies Story Issue

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has turned director with the film S Saraswathi, which released on Friday.

Soon after the release, noted writer Burra Sai Madhav posted strong comments on social media without mentioning the film’s name.

He said the movie was initially based on his story but the script was changed completely. He also stated that the story was “raped” and clarified that the final version was not his story anymore.

Responding at the success meet, Varalaxmi said she respects Sai Madhav but denied copying the story. She explained that she paid for the basic plot and later changed the screenplay to suit the audience.

She also said Sai Madhav was busy with other films and did not attend story discussions. Varalaxmi added that using such strong words about a sensitive film was unfair.
