Sara Arjun, who recently gained popularity with the Bollywood hit Dhurandhar, was the first choice for the heroine’s role in Srinivasa Mangapuram, the debut film of Jayakrishna Ghattamaneni.
However, the role later went to Rasha Thadani. Director Ajay Bhupathi revealed that Sara was considered but felt she looked too young for the character.
He also mentioned that Dhurandhar had not been released at that time and there were some issues with her casting agency.
Rasha, daughter of actress Raveena Tandon, was chosen after Ajay watched her YouTube videos and liked her acting skills.
Srinivasa Mangapuram, which also stars Mohan Babu, is set for a theatrical release on July 30th, marking Rasha’s Telugu debut.
