Sankranthi is a big festival for the Telugu public as well as for the film industry. During this festival season, every year we witness a minimum of three films coming to the theatres. While a few films end up as the biggest blockbusters, a few others fail to impress audience and end up as disasters in their respective hero careers. Now, we bring you the list of star hero films that ended up as disasters at the box office in the past few decades.

  • Mrugaraju

Starring Megastar Chiranjeevi and Simran as the lead pair, Mrugaraju directed by Gunasekhar was released during the Sankranthi season in 2001. The film ended up as a disaster at the box office.

  • Devi Putrudu

Touted as a fantasy drama, Devi Putrudu directed by Kodi Ramakrishna had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2001 and ended up as a big flop. The film has Venkatesh, Soundarya, Anjala Zaveri in lead roles.

  • Takkari Donga

Directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee, Takkari Donga starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2002 and ended up as a flop. The film has Lisa Ray and Bipasa Basu as the female leads.

  • Naaga

Starring NTR Junior in the titular role, Naaga directed by DK Suresh had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2003 and ended up as a big flop. The movie has Sadha, and Jennifer Kotwal as the female lead.

  • Andhrawala

Released amidst high expectations, Andhrawala ended up as a massive flop. The film was directed by Puri Jagannadh and has NTR Junior in the lead role. Rakshitha is the female lead.

  • Anji

Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Kodi Ramakrishna’s graphical film, Anji which had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2004 ended up as a massive flop.

  • Naa Alludu

Directed by Vara Mullapudi, Naa Alludu starring NTR Junior, Shriya Saran and Genelia in the lead roles was released during the Sankranthi season in 2005 and ended up as a major flop.

  • Chukkallo Chandrudu

Starring Siddharth in the lead role, Chukkallo Chandrudu directed by Siva Ananth had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2006 and failed miserably to impress the audience. The film has ANR in a key role. Sadha and Charmee did female lead roles.

  • Okka Magaadu

Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, Okka Magaadu directed by YVS Chowdary had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2008 and ended up as a massive flop. The film has Anushka and Nisha Kothari as the female lead.

  • Parama Veera Chakra

Directed by Dasara Narayana Rao, Parama Veera Chakra starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role had a theatrical release during Sankranthi 2011 and ended up as a major flop.

  • Anaganaga O Dheerudu
