After a ludicrous Sankranthi season this year, many thought the season might have lost its charm. Like the previous two seasons, the movies did not rock the box office to become the biggest box office grossers. But everything might change for 2019, season. With many big hero films looking for suitable dates, the competition has intensified. The producers are finding it hard to lock the dates and hence, they are planning them way ahead like in Hollywood and Bollywood.
For Sankranthi battle royale, Nandamuri Balakrishna is getting ready with NTR biopic. Megastar Chiranjeevi could bring his mega-budget extravaganza and historical patriotic movie, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy for the date. Prabhas Saaho, is heard to have been pushed to Sankranthi season as still 55% of the film needs to be shot and there are huge VFX shots that still need to be canned. Before releasing this Saaho, he might complete his next with Radhakrishna, Jill fame.
On top of all these, due to delay in Spyder and Bharath Ane Nenu, Mahesh 25 is pushed to Sankranthi 2019, as off now. Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt are producing this film. Vamshi Paidipally is directing it. As the movie needs time to complete and Mahesh doesn’t want to rush any of his films, this one is scheduled for a release during Sankranthi festival it seems. How many these would come is still an interesting discussion and we hope, the movies will come with best content and make it a great competitive weekend.
