Sanjay Puran Singh Director of 72 Hoorain is Upset Over Rejection!

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, the director of 72 Hoorain, has poked fun at the CBFC for denying the film’s National Award-winning trailer.

The producers of “72 Hoorain,” whose director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan received the National Award for Best Direction in 2019, angrily disagreed with the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) decision to disapprove the movie’s trailer.

Co-producer of the film Ashoke Pandit described the decision as regressive, saying: “We are deeply upset and dismayed by the CBFC’s unfair decision to reject the trailer without citing any justification. Concerns regarding originality, independence, and genuine filmmaking are greatly heightened by this move. We won’t take this lightly, and if necessary, we’ll knock on the high court’s doors.

He added that “we will also be requesting the I&B ministry to intervene and question the authority at CBFC for rejecting the trailer.”

Two-time National Award winner Chauhan remarked that the film had already been given a censorship certificate and that it had already won a National Award. The core of the film is conveyed in the trailer.

“So on what grounds has CBFC rejected the caravan?” he continued. Before drawing any conclusions, we would want everyone to see the film. The film merely presents facts; it does not disparage any faith or offend anyone’s religious sensibilities.

Gulab Singh Tanwar, a producer, claimed that the reasons for rejection appeared to be without foundation.

“Whatever the CBFC has done is not right,” Tanwar declared. “On the one hand, the government praises ’72 Hoorain’ and gives it a national award, and on the other, the CBFC rejects the trailer for the same movie for reasons that are best known to them and that they alone can fully comprehend. This is totally unfair and perplexing.

On July 7, “72 Hoorain” will be released in theatres.
