Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a well-known director in Bollywood. For films like Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavaat, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and many others, he is highly recognised. The director, who made his name in Hindi movies, appears to be headed for Hollywood.
SLB has established his distinctive aesthetic in Hindi film. Huge production values, epic tales, fully developed characters, fantastical cinematography, and entrancing music.
According to sources, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his production business, Bhansali Productions, have agreements in place with the Hollywood WME (William Morris Endeavour) agency. Among the famous people the agency represents are Matt Damon, Kate Beckinsale, Christian Bale, Jessica Alba, and Ben Affleck.
The news was announced just after the director attempted to set up a worldwide awards campaign for his most recent film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which made its international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and was one of the most popular Indian films ever on Netflix.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is accustomed to receiving praise on a global scale. In the category of Best Foreign Language Film, his movie Devdas, which had its international premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, received a BAFTA nomination. Heeramandi, Bhansali’s most well-known project globally and a historical drama series that he initially revealed last year, is also in production. The Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos’ recent trip to Mumbai to meet with Bhansali gave the project a significant boost in publicity.
Recently, prospects in Hollywood have piqued the curiosity of Indian filmmakers more and more. RRR director SS Rajamouli joined the CAA agency in Hollywood while Jr. NTR and Ram Charan discussed potential parts with Hollywood filmmakers. Tarsem Singh is another Indian director who has gained popularity in the West in addition to Shekhar Kapur.
