Samantha Akkineni started out her journey in Telugu Cinema, with Ye Maaya Chesave and the movie instantly gave her a recognition as an actress. Her next films like Eega, Manam consolidated that image while Dookudu, Brundavanam made her a top heroine. She mixed glamour roles with the acting oriented roles for long.
But after marriage, as she said earlier, she is mostly concentrating on those films that have her character more importance than big productions. The actress is happy to be a part of small scale productions too. All she needs is a compelling script and she is ready to act. She is now busy with her film, U-TURN, a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil.
After this movie, she is ready to take up a film which will be directed by a new director, Girisayya. The director worked as an associate for Arjun Reddy and his script is about a lady who has to work herself out of troubles all alone it seems. The shoot of this film, could begin from August and the film is expected to release, next year.
