Swapna Dutt, the producer of Mahanati, biopic of the legendary actress Savitri, is kicked about the culmination of the good two year process that has come into a reality in the shape of Mahanati. The young producer claimed that she is happy and proud about the film, Mahanati. Also, the producer shared some intriguing details about the kind of the movie fans can expect and future plans too.
She said, “Director Naga Ashwin had this idea of bringing Savitri’s life on screen. Him being a family member we could discuss the probabilities and difficulties behind handling such a project. We wanted to make it as a medium budget film on Swapna Films and Three Angels but when the budget seems to be increasing, Vyjayanthi movies had to take over and my father left all the creative decisions to me, my sister and director. We extensively researched for over two years and then executed the movie.”
She continued, “It was Samantha who is a driving force for this project. She was the first one to say yes for the project and once, she did came on board it became easier for us to approach others. Keerthy Suresh got the part, because by the time, we selected her she is little known and we think her inclusion now is a plus point. Dulquer has been my choice and I was hell bent on him joining the project. I am happy he came on board and we can’t tell much more than that. With many seniors also coming together for this movie, we have done everything we can to make it an exciting and dramatic tribute to the household name of our Telugu Cinema, Savitri.” The movie, is scheduled for release on 29th March and the team recently released a first look logo teaser for some positive response.
