Salaar, the highly anticipated film directed by Prashanth Neel, has captured the attention of the entire nation, with fans eagerly awaiting its release. The recently unveiled teaser shattered existing records, further elevating the buzz surrounding the movie. As a result, there is a massive demand for the Telugu theatrical rights, and top production houses are vying to secure them.
Mythri Movie Makers and Geetha Arts have emerged as front-runners in the race to acquire the rights. However, the makers have set a sky-high asking price, comparable to the collections of the blockbuster film RRR across AP and Telangana. This steep quote has become a point of contention, with negotiations still underway to finalize the deals.
The outcome hangs in the balance, as both parties assess the financial viability of the investment. Alternatively, Hombale Films, the production company behind Salaar, is contemplating the possibility of releasing the film on their own, handling the distribution process themselves.
This move would allow them to retain greater control over the film’s release strategy and potentially maximize their returns. Salaar boasts a star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, in lead roles. The film is slated for a global release on September 28th, generating heightened anticipation among audiences.
