Salaar’s Impact on Sankranti, Clash of the Release Dates

The postponement of Salaar’s release from September 28th has triggered a domino effect in the release dates of numerous films across various film industries. This unexpected change has also caused overseas distributors for Salaar to scramble and make last-minute adjustments as premieres were canceled.

Although Salaar’s official release date hasn’t been confirmed, it has put pressure on the makers of other Sankranti releases like Venkatesh’s Saindhav and Nani’s Hi Nanna. In response to Salaar’s potential Christmas release, some films originally scheduled for Christmas are considering a Sankranti release, hoping that existing Sankranti releases might be postponed.

Consequently, the makers of these Sankranti releases are reiterating their commitment to their chosen release dates. For instance, the team behind Vijay Devarakonda’s VD13, produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, announced that 50% of the shooting is completed, and they intend to release it during Sankranti.

Eagle, another production, is following suit with a confirmed release date of January 13th, 2024, for their Ravi Teja starrer. This proactive approach from Sankranti releases is expected to continue in the coming days, as the film industry navigates the intricate web of release date adjustments caused by Salaar’s uncertain release schedule.
