The OTT streaming details for Salaar have been unveiled, showcasing a strategic move by the makers in selling the streaming rights separately for South Indian languages and Hindi. Netflix secured the rights for South Indian languages, benefiting from the absence of an 8-week restriction unlike the Hindi version, which has already been streaming on the platform for a considerable duration.

Meanwhile, Disney+ Hotstar acquired the streaming rights for the Hindi version, catering to the eager anticipation of Hindi audiences who largely refrained from theater attendance. Despite facing challenges such as competition releases and Animal‘s remarkable performance, both “Dunki” and “Salaar” experienced a lukewarm response theatrically.

However, with its compelling combination of Prashanth Neel‘s directorial prowess and Prabhas‘ star power, Salaar is poised for a significant impact upon its OTT release on February 16th. The prospects for Salaar on OTT platforms appear promising, especially considering the makers’ plans for a sequel.

While the Telugu version found success on Netflix, the English version has only recently commenced streaming, with Animal garnering considerable attention.
